Forget the announcement by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that the unemployment rate is 5.3%. Forget everything you hear on the evening news and/or in your favorite newspaper. The truth about the current labor market is this:
“The number of people not in the labor force reached another record high in July, according to new jobs data released Friday by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The BLS reports that 93,770,000 people (16 and older) were neither employed last month nor had made specific efforts to find work in the prior four weeks.
The number of people outside the workforce in July increased 144,000 over June’s record when 93,626,000 were not in the workforce.”
“All of the employment gains among women since the recession hit in December 2007 have been taken by foreigners, even at a time when the numbers of U.S.-born women surged more than 600,000, according to new federal statistics.
The jobs data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed gains in the “employment level” among “foreign born women” and losses among “native born women.”
“Overall, nearly 25 million foreign workers, men and women, hold jobs inside the United States, according to a Senate immigration expert.”
So, not only are there a record number of Americans who don’t have a job and who have given up looking for one, there are 25 million jobs that have been filled by people who don’t belong in this country. Of course, those foreigners are doing the jobs that Americans
aren’t allowed to do won’t do. Hmm, maybe that’s why the Supreme Court has ruled that states can’t require photo identification for voting in federal elections.
Hey, I just thought of a way to open up 25 million jobs for Americans!
