Thus spake our Dear Leader:
In a sweeping initiative to curb pollutants blamed for global warming, the Obama administration unveiled a plan Monday aimed at cutting carbon dioxide emissions from power plants by nearly a third by 2030. But it delays the deadline for some states to begin complying until long after President Barack Obama leaves office.
The 645-page plan, expected to be finalized next year, is a centerpiece of Obama’s efforts to deal with climate change and seeks to give the United States more leverage to prod other countries to act when negotiations on a new international treaty resume next year. Under the plan, carbon emissions are to be reduced 30 percent from 2005 levels, in what would amount to one of the most significant U.S. actions on global warming.
Obama, in a conference call hosted by the American Lung Association, said the plan would both shrink electricity prices and protect the health of vulnerable Americans. He scolded critics who he predicted would contend anew that the limits would crush jobs and damage the economy.
Never mind the fact that carbon dioxide emissions don’t cause global warming, or climate change, or whatever they are calling it this week.
Much of the global warming debate has focused on reducing CO2 emissions because it is thought that the greenhouse gas produced mostly from fossil fuels is warming the planet. But Steward, who once believed CO2 caused global warming, is trying to fight that with a mountain of studies and scientific evidence that suggest CO2 is not the cause for warming. What’s more, he says CO2 levels are so low that more, not less, is needed to sustain and expand plant growth.
But the leftist sociopaths in charge don’t deal in reality. And as with everything else that this administration does, their plan and it’s effects won’t be realized until after Obama and his minions leave office:
But the draft proposal shows states could have until 2017 — and 2018, if they join with other states. That means even if the rules survive legal and other challenges, the dust won’t likely settle on this transformation until well into the next administration…
But there is a silver lining to this dark cloud of bovine excrement:
The plan relies heavily on governors agreeing to develop plans to meet the federal standard. If Republican governors refuse to go along, as was the case with Obama’s expansion of Medicaid, the EPA can create its own plan for a state. But the specifics of how EPA could force a state to comply with that plan remain murky.
The key to stopping all of this ruling through regulations and executive orders is: don’t comply. Don’t do what the bozos in the federal government tell you to do, because legally they can’t force you to do it.
Global warming erm, ‘climate change’ is nothing more than a plan to raise prices for energy and make you worse off. Cui bono, anyway?
The proposed limits will likely help the biggest U.S. natural gas producer, Exxon Mobil, by increasing demand for its fuel, which emits half the carbon dioxide as coal. The biggest nuclear power generator, Exelon, and biggest wind farm operator, Next Era Energy, may fetch higher prices for their carbon-free power. Companies that sell wind turbines, solar panels, or energy efficiency technology — such as General Electric, Siemens, First Solar and SunPower — may also come out winners.
Regulations are never about protecting consumers and citizens from harm. They are about helping big companies make more money by raising the costs for their competitors. And who are the losers? Take a look in the mirror, chump:
Electric customers will almost certainly pay higher prices, according to several analysts and industry experts, though efficiency measures could reduce the impact of higher prices on power bills. The Obama Administration predicts power bills will shrink as a result of the rule.
It’s not about ‘saving the environment‘. It’s not about saving YOU. It’s about scaring you into letting the leftists control your life by taxing and regulating you back to the Stone Age. Or at least into the real-life version of the Hunger Games.
