The very definition of fascism.

Fascism is an economic system wherein the government and private firms form a partnership.  Basically, the government tells the firms what to produce, how it should be produced, and how much to produce.  Fascism was created by Benito Mussolini in the 1920s.  It’s not a right-wing creation, it is another left-wing political ideology.  And not surprisingly, this didn’t occur during a Republican administration:

Administration announces US manufacturing regions

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration on Wednesday named 12 regions of the country that will receive special attention under a new federal program designed to help make them more attractive to manufacturing companies looking for a place to set up operations, provide a boost to the U.S. manufacturing industry and create jobs.

***

The regions were chosen from more than 70 that applied, and are:

— Southwest Alabama, led by the University of South Alabama.

— Southern California, led by the University of Southern California Center for Economic Development.

— Northwest Georgia, led by the Northwest Georgia Regional Commission.

— The Chicago metro region, led by the Cook County Bureau of Economic Development.

— South Kansas, led by Wichita State University.

— Greater Portland region in Maine, led by the Greater Portland Council of Governments.

— Southeastern Michigan, led by the Wayne County Economic Development Growth Engine.

— The New York Finger Lakes region, led by the City of Rochester.

— Southwestern Ohio Aerospace Region, led by the City of Cincinnati.

— The Tennessee Valley, led by the University of Tennessee.

— The Washington Puget Sound region, led by the Puget Sound Regional Council.

— The Milwaukee 7 Region, led by the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Milwaukee.

Most of the U.S. manufacturing jobs created in the last 15 years, at least here in Alabama, weren’t created by American manufacturing companies.  BMW, Mercedes, Honda, Kia, and Hyundai and their suppliers account form almost all of them.  Oh, and let’s not forget ThyssenKrupp.  The only domestic manufacturers that I know of that are still American companies are defense contractors, and their defense contracts make them fascistic also.

I love how people here are driving around in their Kias with license plate frames that say “I support my local economy.”  Only if you live in Korea, honey.
