U.S. debt is now equal to economy

The national debt for the U.S. is now approximately $15.23 trillion.  U.S. GDP for 2011  was approximately $15.3 trillion.

The U.S. government is borrowing more than 40 cents for each dollar they spend.  The politicians had a tiff last summer when the U.S. hit the debt ceiling of $14.2 trillion, and less than 6 months later we are about to hit the debt ceiling again.

  1. I don’t know about anyone esle but it is crazy to know that this is the United States and we can’t deal with our national debt. As much taxes that most of us have to pay, it really does not make sense to keep paying the leaders top money for the choices they make to keep us in debt. That will truely make a big deal on wasting money on “some” useless judgements and see how hard it is to earn a dollar if the job is not getting done.
