Labor Dept.: Economy added jobs, unemployment rate fell.

According to a news release from the U.S. Department of Labor, 200,000 jobs were added to the economy in December 2011 and the unemployment rate fell to 8.5%:

These statistics may be accurate; however, you should take them with a grain of salt.  You need to remember that businesses hire seasonal workers to help during the Christmas rush, which would temporarily result in a lower unemployment rate.
